Leadership Development for Officers and Members |

Running for Chapter Office. Each member of FBLA has the opportunity to run for an office of the FBLA chapter. Members interested, fill out applications, and the advisors then select officers from the applications.

Summer State Leadership Conference. On April 20-21, 2009 FBLA members that advanced to the state competition attended the State Leadership Conference. While at conference, members took advantage of leadership workshops offered. |

District 2 Fall Planning Meeting. The 2009-2010 FBLA District 2 Fall Planning Meeting was held in the Eldon High School Commons. Representatives from Blair Oaks, Eugene, Fatima, Fulton, New Bloomfield, Nichols Career Center, and South Callaway were present. Business was conducted and students remained in the commons for leadership activities organized by Willard Haley, ECC Director, and ECC Placement Coordinator Kelli Engelbrecht. Refreshments were served after the activities. |
Committee Leadership. Committees are formed at the start of each school year according to the chapter’s need for organization . The organization of committees ensures that chapter business is executed efficiently. Committees formed this year are as follows: Recruitment, Fundraising, FBLA Week, Publicity, District Contest and Alcohol Awareness. |

Career Preparations |

Professional Dress Day. FBLA week is an opportune time to develop the professional skills within students. Students are encouraged to dress professionally on Thursday of FBLA week. |

Guest Speakers. Area business leaders speak at our chapter meetings and judge at our district contests. A presenter from the Missouri State Attorney's office spoke to our FBLA chapter about Internet fraud. These opportunities gave members a chance to better prepare for the business world. |

Job Fair. Members help set up and operate the job fair sponsored by Eldon Career Center. |

Technical Education Week. February 8th-12th is FBLA and Technical Education Week. There were many activities during this week. Some of the activities included: professional dress day, FBLA t-shirt day, game night, door decorating contest, breakfast for the staff and senior FBLA members, and guest speakers. |
