Coat Drive. Winter coats were brought in to the business classrooms and taken to the Eldon Kiwanis Club for cleaning and distribution to needy community members. |

Food Drive. During FBLA week, members are encouraged to bring at least 3 cans of food each for a food drive to benefit needy community members. |

Job Fair. The Eldon Career Center and area businesses holds a job fair for all high school and career center students. Members volunteer time to give students direction around the building, answer any questions, and assist booth operators. |

Carving at the Lee House. Throughout the year FBLA members are given a chance to interact with the senior citizens at the Lee House, a local retirement center. Members go on various holidays to help with projects that encouraged the youth to communicate with and appreciate the elderly. Pumpkins are taken to the Lee House shortly before Halloween. Members assist the residents with carving the pumpkins with patterns. The pumpkins are then donated to decorate the Lee House during the holiday. |

Making Pumpkins with Daycare. Members go to the local Baptist Church and make pumpkins with the Daycare kids. |

Paper Recycling. In February a school-wide paper recycling program was organized. Boxes are distributed to every classroom and office and then collected weekly to be taken to the local branch of Missouri Recycling Association. |

Reading at South School. Members volunteer to read books to several classes at the Eldon South Elementary. Students ranged from pre-kindergarten to 3rd grade. Members not only read books aloud but also talk about how reading is used daily in their lives. |

Staff Appreciation. During FBLA week, members distributed candy bars with encouraging sayings to teachers’ mailboxes. |

Hotcake Night at McDonalds. Members annually schedule a hotcake night in conjunction with our local McDonald's to raise money for March of Dimes. McDonald's provides the community all-you-can-eat hotcakes and sausage for $4.00 per ticket. This provided members an opportunity to interact with community members and perform the various jobs of a McDonald’s worker. |
Job Shadowing. During FBLA week, members have a chance to job shadow a professional in the business of their choice. Members are encouraged to choose a business in the career field they would like to pursue when they graduate. |
