Greenhand and Chapter Degree Initiation

The greenhand and chapter degree initiation will be held Monday, November 10 in the Middle
School gym. All members getting their degree should attend for it will be worth a grade in their
ag class. Any other members who attend the meeting will get extra credit in their ag class. Parents
are also welcome to come. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. After the meeting there will be refreshments.

Annual FFA Hog Roast a Success!

On Saturday, October 4th, the Eldon FFA Chapter held our annual hog roast. Approximately
1018 people attended this event. The hog roast was very profitable for our chapter and raised about
$10,000. The member with the highest number of raffle tickets sold was Bailey Salmons with 1,256
tickets. Ryan Looten sold the most hog roast tickets with 96. Junior and Senior members were sold at
the work auction and Zach Jewell was the highest seller. Zach was bought by Larry Apperson for $100 an hour.

Eldon Fares Well at National Convention!

The Eldon FFA Chapter had two contest teams compete at National Convention and received the
3 Star Chapter Award. The 3 Star Chapter Award is the highest award a chapter can receive. Eldon has
been a 2 or 3 Star Chapter since 1996. The Parliamentary Procedure team placed 3rd in the nation
and Lauren Schad received the Outstanding Secretary award for her minutes of the parli demonstration.
The Agriculture Sales team placed 8th in the nation. Jana Haley placed 10th individually and JoLynn Campbell placed 12th.
